We were little late in paying the tuition fees for which we already wrote an email for seeking a little extension and not to impose penalty. But for 3 weeks, there is no response to my several emails. My email been seen and opened several time, but no response from Principal. At the same time whenever there is email about new admission ( one of our long term friend), immediately my friend got response. This is double standard of GreenwoodHigh.
The campus and infrastructure they show is just for marketing purpose. If your kid want to learn/participate sports, you should pay extra bucks apart from your tuition fees. This is typical business and not a " Vidya daan" OR Gurukul.
They try to bringing Political personalities or celebrities and gets good ranking (might be paid as well), which is number game. By doing so, they use it as a marketing tool and business strategy but making a great school needs to consider all the students equally. Only those kids who pay for after school sports activities are promoted in sports/cultural events of Annual Day. This is biased.

In spite of taking appointments a week in advance for individual admission assessments, apart from open houses (which she herself suggested), she refused to conduct the assessment. This happened twice in a row. I had take a day off at work, make my son skip school for these two days, and commute all the way to school only to hear that she had never asked us to come to the school. This, even after asking her multiple times if we need to block the calendar so there is no miscommunication.

Teaching values at school is one thing, practising keeping words and valuing other’s time is also equally important. I hope the school administration identifies this issue and fixes it. If the bridge between your school and the parents is someone like her, you really are not delivering a good experience to parents who would think multiple times to get their children into this school - especially when the parents are ready to pay a hefty fee of at least 3.5lakhs.

Fees is totally overpriced. 3.5 lakhs is just ridiculous, together with that the fees are increased slightly every year. It's not worth it for the quality of education.

Grounds are 5 stars. Very nice ambience and gives a nice peaceful atmosphere. In the morning, birds often sing and this gives a very nice soothing effect when in the classroom.

Education is 3 stars. The teachers are average, they are just about all that you can ask from one. They respond properly to emails from parents and teach properly too. However, overall the education quality is meh.

Classrooms are 4.5 stars. They are well lit and have a nice ambience just like the grounds. Most also have a smartboard (massive computer screen projector) which really helps in teaching. However they are rarely cleaned properly and can get very messy over time which ruins the whole atmosphere.

Principal is 2 stars. The principal, Louis Dias is a old man and is solely focused on running the school like a business rather than a place for education. His job at the school seems to be siphoning money out of wallets rather than providing a place for education.

Overall AVOID THIS SCHOOL unless you are rich and have a great salary.

The infrastructure and environment is really good. There's a nice enclosure with trees in every block for the kids to spend time during breaks. School architecture is classy.

- Teacher-student connection
The kids are treated very well. Teachers are friendly and caring. Discipline is maintained, but in a very friendly manner.

- Good authorities
The principal and the coordinator (Ms.Pooja) are very forthright and helpful. Exit formalities were smooth.

Cons:-

- Projector wasn't working in some of the classrooms. The IT dept should check this in all classrooms at least in the first month of the academic year.

- The HR (Ms.Preeti) wasn't very forthright and lacked clarity.

Overall, it was a good experience. And, if I ever become a dad, I wouldn't think twice before sending my kid here.

1) I am Vinod .I completed my masters in U.S. Worked for 5 years as a tutor for high schools (I.C.S.E and C.B.SE).
I enrolled my child in Greenwood pre school and she passed UKG in the academic year 19-20.I discontinued (Grade 1) for my child for academic year 20-21 due to COVID affected members at home.Now technically she is supposed to be in Grade 2 for this academic year 21-22 in Greenwood High. But I wanted to enroll my child in Grade 1 itself for the year 21-22 though its a year back in her academics. The admission dept and principal accepted and finished the official formalities for admission to Grade 1.Only paying the fees was the last step. When i asked about Rs 20,000 which i had paid earlier for Grade 1 seat blocking and 30% reduction in fees as per Karnataka Govt orders issued on Jan 30th 2021 (DECCAN HERALD article attached). Dept said they will get back.

2) The School Admission dept turned the tables by instructing the Co-ordinator to assess the student's knowledge based on Grade 1 questionaire though she passed only UKG. After 20 min of video call interview for my child. The co-ordinator said the student is eligible and will be taken into Grade 1. A day later the admission dept and principal sent a email stating the student isnt eligible for grade 1. And need to enroll back in UKG again which is technically putting 2 years behind in child's career.

I questioned the admission dept ( Miss/Mrs Shweta ji ) , First of all how can a UKG passed student be assessed or to determine the capability of the student with Grade 1 questionaire for 20 min video call (It was first time for my child to attend any class online) ?

There are many fully grown adults who have stage fear or fumble when lot of people need to be addressed on public platforms at their first attempts.
The student is just a child , cant the school management empathize that??

Next point i asked , after Co-ordinator said the student will be take into Grade 1!!!!! Why now contradicting your statements? Is it on the grounds of fees reduction i questioned? The answer is funny
The lady just puts the phone in mute.Again if i call from unknown number she picks and again puts it on mute but never cuts the call( dats the good part).

Its a clear case of fees extortion ( Recollect UKG Fees Rs 1,56,000 this year from me + Grade 1 fees Rs 1,56,000 for next academic year 22-23 which i am supposed to pay this year *conditons apply ,if fees nxt year not hiked ) Recovering the profits stalled by the pandemic.

When my child asked me why i need to study UKG again ? I didnt have an answer nor I couldn't tell that we need to adjust to the system as i did in my old days.
I deeply thot and took a decision to fight the injustice caused.Let my child observe from me how to fight when an injustice occurs and handle the repercussions while seeking justice in the process.

A chapter in a book can be taught by a teacher but a chapter of a life can be taught only by a Parent.
Few senior journalists too felt injustice has happened.They have come forward to help me out.And I will be filing a legal suit in the court of law.

I went to this school to take admission for my son. Their infrastructure is too good and well maintained. I also found that the principal is a very accessible and good listener. I also found that the principal is a very accessible and good listener. We have backed out for multiple reasons. One of the reasons is the attitude of an admission officer( Shahin). She is very tough in answering questions. To give a couple of examples. When I said fee hike by 10%, she told " who said 10%, it's anywhere between 10-12%" without mentioning any reason. Another point i didn't like is when I asked to check the food quality. She asked us to come any other day as we need to take prior permission. Instead, she should have been mentioned, as food been prepared based on number of heads and doesn't want to waste any food.
Overall, I felt that they least bother about whether I admit my son or not. This is visible in her body language and the way she answered our questions.

The sports classes are very limited during school hours. After school activities are available but at almost 2x fees compared to outside sports academies.

Their bus service is also 2-3x costlier than comparable services of other schools.

Then there's the customary hikes 10-12% in all fees every year.

So, inquire about all facilities and fees apart from the teachers and education and make an informed decision considering all the costs and benefits when you are planning to enroll your child in this school.

As for us existing parents, it's a matter of monitoring the schools performance in terms of our kids education, development and achievements. Hope it will all be worth it in the end.
